ENR reports Razor-Thin Margins and Declining Productivity
According to recent articles in Engineering News Record, "gone are the days when contractors, content with fat margins and burgeoning backlogs, decided to chase only the most profitable jobs and those they were most likely to win. These days, no job is too smal, no margin too thin."
Then, in a study by Dr. Paul Teicholz of Stanford University, he "suggested that construction labor productivity declined by nearly 20% between 1964 and 2003, while other non-farm industries improved by more than 200%."
Isn't it time to focus on improving your productivity and your margins?
